THANK YOU to everyone who auditioned for Aladdin. We had OVER 90 dancers show up from the Fargo-Moorhead and surrounding area. It is so exciting to see so many dancers interested in our company and production.
As we are a growing company, our audition numbers continue to grow, this always makes our job very difficult when it comes to casting. Unfortunately, we are unable to take everyone. Please don’t let this be discouraging to you or your dancer, continue to train and work hard and we hope to see you at a future audition or production.
Many factors go into casting, here are a few things we consider: we look at who can dance and act a role; a dancers training and ability; a dancers willingness to learn; how quick choreography is picked up (we have limited rehearsal time and move quickly through the process and rehearsals); we look at conflicts (due to limited rehearsal time, a dancer with many conflicts often misses key rehearsals); production budget, including costumes and the time frame for our costume designer to complete for the production; as well as other production factors.
Again, if you didn’t get casted, we hope to see you at Aladdin (April 21-22, 2018 at the Fargo Theatre) and at a future audition. • FMBallet Company Auditions — August 2018 (Ages 13 - Adult) • Jr. Company Auditions — September 2018 (Ages 10 - 19) • The Classic Nutcracker — September 2018 (Ages 6 - Adult)
To those who made the production, congratulations. Remember, the work has to happen in rehearsal and outside of rehearsal. As we have mentioned, there is LIMITED rehearsal time. ALL rehearsals you are scheduled for are mandatory.
Check the spelling of your name and please email us at info@fmballet.org if it is spelled INCORRECTLY. An email will go out in a few days with a scene list and a rehearsal schedule.
Thank you for your time, dedication, and passion.

READ: Due to the abundance amount of scenes in Aladdin, we have a scene break down stating what characters are in what scene. We will be using this for purposes of rehearsal schedule, so please refer to the scene breakdown when looking at the rehearsal schedule. Rehearsal schedules are usually released about two weeks in advance, but always subject to change. Rehearsals may take place Wednesday 7:20pm - 9:30pm, Friday 7:20pm - 9:30pm, Saturday after 2pm, and/or Sunday after 2pm. Rehearsal time is limited for this production, so missing a few rehearsals may mean removal from a production.
Costume measurement date will be announced soon. Check out our calendar page (or the bulletin board at Gasper's School of Dance (home of the FMBallet)) for rehearsal, dress rehearsal and costume calls.
