We are thrilled to have Elijah Gibson join us this summer for our 2025 Summer Dance Intensive. He brings a wide range of dance training and styles to the table giving our summer dance intensive dancers well rounded training. We find that the most successful dancers are well versed in several styles of dance (even if they just want to be a ballet dancer).
We can't wait to have Elijah join us this summer to train our summer dance intensive students. Train with us! In-person auditions are Saturday, February 22.

Elijah Gibson
Elijah Alhadji Gibson founded Social Movement Contemporary Dance Theater in 2019 after an extensive international career as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer, as well as a distinguished career in higher education. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, with a specialization in dance history, somatic practices, and pedagogy.
Gibson had the privilege of working closely with the world-renowned Gus Giordano, and his critically acclaimed work has been presented at prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center and Jacob’s Pillow. He has taught at several esteemed institutions, including Shenandoah Conservatory, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Houston.
Currently, Gibson is on faculty at Texas A&M University, where he serves as the Associate Program Director of the Dance Science Program.
