TONIGHT: Live Stream of The Nutcracker

Things are looking a little different this season compared to season's past. Due to Covid, we are unable to do a traditional stage performance of our yearly holiday tradition, The Classic Nutcracker. So we decided to create a little twist on our classic production and introduce a jazzy element.

Over 10 years ago we started doing the Nutcracker, and we actually didn't start with the classic version you have grown to love. For two seasons, we performed Duke Ellington's Nutcracker Suites. This jazzy take on the Nutcracker will have you dancing around your homes and dancing into the holidays. (Photos below are from Nutcracker Suites 2007.)

This season we have taken Act 2 (the Lands) of both Duke Ellington's Nutcracker Suites, and our version of Tchaikovsky The Classic Nutcracker to perform for you LIVE from Gasper's School of Dance (home of the FMBallet).

Things will look different as our dancers are not costumed, there are no fancy lights, set pieces or 30+ mice on stage. This intimate production features our 2020 - 2021 Company members who have been working hard along side our choreographers to bring a production to light this fall.

Duke Ellington's Nutcracker is choreographed by founding director, Mrs. Kathryn Gasper, and Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker is choreographed by Artistic Director, Mr. Matthew Gasper.

How to watch?

We will have a LIVE link available tonight around 7:30pm (show starts at 8:00pm). You can grab this link from our website's home page, our Facebook Page or Facebook Event page.

This is a FREE production. Our biggest income each season comes from ticket sales. And due to COVID we have not been able to have this income since The Classic Nutcracker 2019. Please consider the FMBallet in your year end giving. All amounts are appreciated.

Auction

Our auction for our company painted Nutcracker dolls ends tomorrow, December 19, 2020 (8pm CST). This is an annual fundraiser we didn't want to pass up on this season. Place your bids today and take home a one-of-a-kind Nutcracker doll painted by a FMBallet Company Member.
